Our Feline Friends
K WAN Y IN
KwanYin is named for the Diety of Benevolence and Good Will. He is an incredible kitten! We said we had a "full house", but couldn't turn away this little stray! His 3 brothers and sisters found homes, after being rescued from a creek on a cold September day! Kwan is getting along very well with his roommates, and LOVES Ruby Tuesday, our Lab!
R EMBRANDT
Remmy found us in May 1999. His mother was a stray in the neighborhood, she brought 6 beautiful kittens out of the woods for us to take care of and find good homes for. Rembrandt got his name the moment Sarel laid eyes on him, and he won us over with his incredibly "laidback" personality. The marking on his forehead is in a distinct "M", which my friend Ruth says means "Manger Cat". She says they are the best cats because they were the ones at the Manger! Isn't that a sweet thought?
M ATISSE
Matisse is a true "lap cat"! His main goal is to find someone to lay on, and he has been known to climb right up the leg of his object of desire! He is getting rather hefty due to his lazy ways, but a more adoring cat you will never find! We found him as a kitten in July of 97, he had been thrown out on the street(A NASTY habit that needs rectified in our area.) We took him in and deemed him our "Studio Mascot". The photo shows him involved in a curious habit of his: He climbs ladders. Shown over 8 feet above the ground, defying gravity, and all prejudices about his energy level! He even takes naps at the top, I think because he is too tired to come down right away!
S AGE
Sarel found Sage the day after we found Matisse! She had also been THROWN OUT along the road in a nearby town! She has six toes, which means she has an opposing digit, a thumb! just like us! She is an amazing cat! Her talents include hanging on to the skinniest edges of furniture and things with the help of her thumbs! She has an exotic looking face, her eyes have a different slant to them. She is very loving, but isn't fond of being picked up, and would rather kiss a dog than be on a lap!
L ILLY
Lily found me when I stopped by a local Humane Society. She was approximately 9 months old, and was nearing her limited time at the society. She is the Royal Highness around here. So elegant, and regal. She graces us with her presence and lets us know just how insignificant we are compared to felines! When she does want attention, she is the sweetest darling ever! Sarel and I both try not to disturb her when she takes a notion to fall asleep in our arms, since it is such a pleasant rarity! People who see her in the windows of the school stop to look twice, to make sure she isn't a sculpture!
S EURAT
My old man! Seurat passed away in 2002. He is missed greatly. I have many many drawings and paintings of my long time friend.
